Winners 2011
We are excited to announce the winners of our first Three-in-One Chapbook Contest, and will be publishing chapbooks of their work in November 2011. The Three-in-One is the only contest of its kind, and we aim to bring you short prose and graphic stories that are unique in their originality and scope. This year’s winners – from the USA, the UK, and Holland – are no exception!
So, without further ado, please put your hands together for:
1st P
rize: Lou Dellaguzzo for The Hex Artist
Lou Dellaguzzo’s short stories have appeared in various anthologies and literary journals. These include Chroma, Harrington Gay Men’s Literary Quarterly, and two sequential editions of Best Gay Love Stories and Best Gay Romance. Two of the stories featured in The Hex Artist appear as chapters in his novel manuscript, Bowery Season. He lives in Washington, D.C. with his partner.
2nd Prize: Becky Mayhew for Lost Souls
Becky Mayhew is a writer of short stories, plays and humorous articles, and is also a freelance proofreader. She graduated in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia in 2006, and has since written and self-published a play for junior schools. She has been a barmaid, a teaching assistant for disengaged students, and an office administrator. Lost Souls is her first published work of fiction.
3rd Prize: Beldan Sezen for her graphic short stories Fear City, Girls, and Demons
Beldan Sezen is a German-Turkish freelance artist based in Amsterdam. Her work has been part of solo and group exhibitions in Amsterdam, London, Berlin, Wiesbaden, Beirut and Aleppo. Read our interview with her. Visit her here.
